Research
The HIFI Lab will work with non-profit organizations, local and regional government agencies and organizations, and across campus departments to develop engaging research questions about real world issues. We will focus on experiential learning for novice to experienced researcher about how to conserve and protect natural habitats, study wildlife and human interactions, and ecosystem health through sonic biodiversity. Members will work through the research cycle by learning about current problems, identifying knowledge gaps, developing research questions and experimental design, conducting research in the field, and learning ways to analyze and visualize data. The interdisciplinary teams will share their research findings in research symposiums and scientific conferences.
HIFI Lab will:
- Produce new knowledge and creative works about conservation, ecology and biological sonic environments
- Explore and develop new technologies
- Investigate wildlife and human interactions for policy and conservation managers
- Engage with communities about these issues
