Beering Scholars
The Beering Scholars enroll in the Honors College in addition to their home disciplinary college.
The Beering Scholarship program was created by Purdue’s ninth president, Dr. Steven C. Beering, who raised private funds for the endowment.
The Beering Scholarship recipients can pursue one bachelor’s degree, one master’s degree or an MBA and one doctoral degree at Purdue or medical school through Indiana University. The program also covers related educational expenses and a one-semester study abroad opportunity.

To qualify as a Purdue candidate for the Beering Scholarship, a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Apply for admission to Purdue West Lafayette and complete the Honors College portion of the Purdue application as an entering first-year student by November 1.
