Dr. Rhonda Phillips, Dean of the John Martinson Honors College at Purdue University, will virtually present her research project entitled, “Community Development and Community Well-Being: Exploring Relational Frameworks and Constructs,” on April 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM EST. This free webinar is sponsored by the Community Development Society, which is an organization working to advance the profession of community development through education and research. This talk will focus on the happiness of communities and understanding the collective “wellness” of a city, town, or neighborhood.

This webinar has relevance for professionals, scholars, and students in the fields of community development, community programming, governance, law, the nonprofit sector, and others. Dr. Phillips will explore how community developers implement these concepts into practice.

MasterClass in New Generation Philanthropy: A Community Well-Being Approach

This MasterClass introduces students and others interested in professional work of philanthropy and impacts on nonprofit missions. Themes for presentations and workshops include applied ethics for philanthropy, philanthropic community foundations and associations, advocacy for social justice and equity, and supporting and leveraging empathy in times of great need. MasterClass instructors are philanthropy researchers and practitioners representing many roles and missions in the nonprofit sector and interdisciplinary research on philanthropy.
