Biography
Dr. Christie Shee is an entomologist and ecologist who specializes in plant-insect interactions. She is interested in the intersection of the sciences and cultural representations of environment. Her courses examine human-environmental relations and the actions individuals and communities can take to mitigate current environmental concerns, including habitat and biodiversity loss. She invites students to critically reflect on their place in the world and to imagine new ways to develop sustainable futures.
She received her Ph.D. from Purdue University, where her research developed integrated pest management strategies for organic farms. She also holds degrees in Animal Sciences (B.S. Ohio State University, M.S. Purdue University) and has published in Animal, The Professional Animal Scientist, and the Journal of Animal Science.
