Honors Thesis or Scholarly Project

Research is the lifeblood of the university. Through it, we create knowledge, make discoveries, and change the world.

All Honors College students complete research or other scholarly activity that leads to a culminating thesis or comparable scholarly project, the requirements for which are set by the student’s college or department. The thesis or scholarly project allows students to contribute to the creation of knowledge and to take part in larger conversations; therefore it should be presented in a public forum (e.g. publication, presentation, display, or performance).

Most students complete the thesis/scholarly project within their home department, but some have the option of developing an interdisciplinary or independent project through the Honors College. To determine eligibility for this option, please consult the list below.
