Honors College Requirements
5 HONR credits
*2 credits from the first year seminar
3 credits of HONR designated courses
19 Honors Electives
HONR courses beyond the first 5 HONR credits
H designated courses and/or honors contract courses
Non-required grad level courses and/or research**
9 credits must be taken after the 1st year
Maintain at least a 3.5 cummulative GPA.
Take at least one honors course per academic year excluding full semesters during which students study abroad.
Research or other scholarly activity that leads to a culminating thesis/comparable scholarly project.

** To fulfill the “elective honors courses (19 credits)” in the Honors College curriculum, the credit in exchange for independent research needs to be in support of the culminating thesis or scholarly project.
University Honors Program (UHP) Requirements
24 Honors Credits
HONR designated & honors contract courses
Honors study abroad & service learning courses
*Advanced course substitutes (400 & 500 level)
Scholarly/research projects as independent study
Earn a B or higher in honors courses.
Maintain at least a 3.6 cummulative GPA.
The UHP is no longer admitting students.
