Diane FacinelliBiography

Dr. Diane Facinelli has been with the Purdue Honors College since August of 2014, having spent the previous 21 years at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State. She was the first recipient of ASU’s Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Student Mentoring and was a finalist for the Professor of the Year Award. Dr. Facinelli earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in English with an emphasis in Medieval Literature and served as an affiliated faculty member of the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. On 6 occasions, she taught a course on the Arthurian Legend in History, Literature and Art for the ACMRS summer program at Cambridge University and in Oxford, England. Her research focused on the Arthurian Legend, on issues of law and government in Medieval Literature, and on how portrayals of superheroes and super villains reflect and influence American culture. Dr. Facinelli directed 25 study away programs since 1995.
